Netgally Help Wanted!
I just got my Kindle and also got my first three Netgalley books approved, just days after they sent the e-mail that the Kindle feature is temporarily disabled. :( Does anyone know... is there ANY way to get them onto the Kindle right now, or is it just all a waiting game? I have three amazing books just waiting to be read, but I don't want to read them on the computer, so I'm hoping the Kindle feature is back up and running soon.
Yes Steph. Download the pdf version, email it to your kindle using the free email address you got ie, *name*@free.kindle.com and put the subject of the email as Convert. Amazon will convert it and it will be on your Kindle in a minute or maybe two. I did it the other day :-)
ReplyDeleteYay! so glad that someone was able to help you! :) I have a nook...so I have no clue about that stuff! But I DO LOVE NETGALLEY! best ever!
ReplyDeleteThere is an easier way that Slowest Bookworm mentioned.
ReplyDelete1. Log into your Amazon account.
2. Go to "Manage Your Kindle".
3. Add this email "kindle@netgalley.com" to your "Your Kindle Approved E-mail List".
4. Log back into your NetGalley.
5. Go to your Active Requests.
6. Open the book you want.
7. Select Kindle and it will send it to your Kindle.
Unless Kindle is not an option and then you have to do as Slowest Bookworm suggested.
I'd love a B&N meet-up! I only work 3 or 4 days a week, so I'm pretty free :o)
ReplyDeleteYou know, oddly enough I don't think I've ever gone to the May book sale. I have no clue why - I usually go to the library every Monday and I always go into that little bookstore, so I usually hear about it but never make it. I'll have to aim to go this May!
I don't know if you usually work on Mondays, but if I see you there this week I'll be sure to stop by and say hi!
Oh, also - Happy Early Birthday! :-D
I saw that message the other day and was just disgusted. Deliver to Kindle was so easy.
ReplyDeleteHave you added emails under the 'Manage my Kindle' yet?
I use the adobe digital editions they suggest and just download galley but click open and it opens into the abobe digital. I then hook my nook to my computer and it shows in the adobe digital editions and drag the book into my nook. I don't see why you couldn't do this with kindle as well. Hope this helps!
ReplyDeleteI thought you could transfer content via USB? I don't have a kindle but I did look into it when I was thinking of getting one. Here's the amazon link http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200505520&#usb
ReplyDeleteSo in theory if you downloaded it to your computer you should be able to transfer it across? Or at least that's how I read it.
