Hi everyone! I am starting a couple of hours late, but I am starting now, so here we go! This is my first ever readathon, despite having been a book blogger for over two years. I am also not the fastest reader, so I won't be reading mountains of books like some of you can. :( But, I will do my best. Below are my stat updates and my intro. I can't read the whole time because I have a midterm to take (phooey!).
STATISTICS
Pages Read: 140
Time Read: 2.5 hours
Books:
*The Final Note by Kevin Alan Milne (previously started, finished today).
*Here Lies Bridget by Paige Harbison (started today, currently reading).
Final Update: Epic fail? My goal was to read for a measly 6 hours, but I only read 2.5. I had to take a midterm then go to a Halloween party. Next year, I will try my hardest to have the day completely cleared. But honestly, I don't really think I failed because if I hadn't been doing the readathon, I wouldn't have read 2.5 hours - probably less than one since it was a busy day. I did have fun though, and look forward to participating in the next one!
1)Where are you reading from today?
Rochester, NY.
2)Three random facts about me…
I love animals and people who rescue them. I have a rescue dog, Dakota.
I love the show Dexter like crazy. I want to marry Michael C. Hall.
I love the color combination brown and pink.
3)How many books do you have in your TBR pile for the next 24 hours?
TWO! I know, lame! Slow bookworm over here.
4)Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, or number of comments on blogs)?
Um, I am a baby when it comes to sleep so I can't partake in the overnight bit (lame), plus I have to take a midterm. My goal is 6 hours.
5)If you’re a veteran read-a-thoner, any advice for people doing this for the first time?
This is my first time. Advice welcome here!
I love Dexter too!!! Have fun today!

Good luck! I'm a slow reader, too. And I always spend about half my time trying to check out other book blogs. :) Good luck on your midterm!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on taking part in your first read a thon! You will do awesome for sure :)
ReplyDeleteI love the color combo brown and pink too, so pretty!
Welcome! This is my 3rd time participating and I'm still learning the ropes. I'm not a fast reader either that's why I have novellas in my TBR pile so that I can feel accomplished.
ReplyDeleteDon't stress and Good luck!
Good luck. I've done a couple read-a-thons but this time I'm just unofficially cheering. I say just have fun and don't put a lot of pressure on yourself.
ReplyDeleteHave fun - I'd be exactly like you, I'm a slow reader and I like my sleep too much to read for 24 hours straight. That's why I'm cheering....
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Louise (CheerTrix)
R! E! A! D!
ReplyDeleteAny book that you can see!
Boo to the midterm. Good luck! I went to school in Rochester -- loved the city! I hope your first readathon experience is excellent :-)
WAY TO GO! I just finished my last midterm yesterday, good luck on yours! I'm just like you on the "not a fast reader" part. :D wishing you the best! yahooooo!
ReplyDeleteI definitely can't do the overnight part either, but I'm glad you're able to join during the day! Hope you're having a great first readathon!
ReplyDeleteHeh. I'm sucky about sleeping too; I really envy those who can pull through the whole 24 hours. But so long as you're having fun. Hope your mid-term is done with, that it went well, and that you're just in this for the fun of it now that it's out of the way. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteCheering for you from Team Trix
Hey, that's two more books than me! :) I'm not very good with read-a-thons (too much pressure?) so tend to sit them out. Hope you had a great time, and hope you get a great score on your mig-term!
ReplyDeleteBest of luck on the readathon! *rah rah sis boom bah* ^_^
ReplyDeleteYou did great! I've done readathons where I had the whole day clear but still only read a couple hours. I can't stay up all night either. This time I actually made it until 1 am which is a record for me
ReplyDeleteWell, you have inspired me to try a "read-a-thon". Goodness knows I have enough books fromo the library checked out to do one! I just started reading "The Night Circus" - will let you know what I think.
ReplyDeleteNext time I'm going to participate too. My tbrpile must be reduced to at least 5 books. :) I think you did really great with it. I'm a slow reader aswell and managing two books in one day is awesome!! :)
ReplyDeleteps: I hope you did great on that midterm. :)
