Summary: Hadley and Oliver have just met at the airport, en route to England, Oliver's home, and the scene of the wedding of Hadley's estranged father. They feel an istant connection and fall in love over the course of their seven hour flight, but lose each other after landing in England. While there, Hadley struggles with her father remarrying, and hopes desperately to find Oliver again.
My Thoughts: First off, awesome title, right? Got to admit, that really drew me in at first. Plus the cover. It's pretty stunning. My feelings about the story itself, though, are sort of indifferent. For me, the book was GOOD, not GREAT. I LIKED it, but I didn't LOVE it. I'm just kind of 'meh' about it, to be honest, which is kind of disappointing.
I really loved the idea of this story with love at first sight, but it just never clicked or jived with me. I never got all that into it. Don't get me wrong, there were certain parts of the story I really enjoyed, especially the family dynamics. I was most interested in the storyline about Hadley and her estranged father, and I felt anger at him right alongside her. However, the Oliver and Hadley storyline, while cute, didn't seem real to me. Only the first half of the book or so focused on their relationship and meeting, so perhaps more of this would have convinced me better. They met up several other times throughout the book, but the initial evolving of their relationship on the plane just didn't do it for me. I also didn't love the fact that the story took place in just one or two days time. I like to really dig into a character's mind and background, so I would have liked to see this story from the beginning - when Hadley's dad left - rather than just in short bursts of flashback.
So, in all, I'd say the story is sweet and interesting, but ultimately not memorable or spectacular. I know a lot of people who loved it though, so give it a shot and see what YOU think.
My Rating: 3/5
