Let's Talk: 2013 Goals & Resolutions
Hey everyone! It’s been a couple of weeks since I last participated, but now that Christmas is over and I’ve just started a five-day weekend (hell to the yeah), I’m back!
Let’s Talk is a discussion-based meme hosted by Smash Attack Reads and A Book Obsession. Here’s today’s topic:
“What are your New Year Resolutions? Or, what goals have you set for yourself in 2013?”
I’m not big into New Year’s Resolutions, but I do have a lot of goals. I’ll break them down by personal and reading.
πͺ Personal Goals
- Hit my goal weight: Since the end of January this year, I’ve lost around 91 pounds. My total weight loss goal is 150 pounds. I plan on reaching that in 2013—particularly BEFORE MY WEDDING (in October!).
- Be a 4.0 MASTER: I’m gettin’ me my Master’s degree in May. I have three more classes, and as of now I have a 4.0 GPA. I’d really like to maintain that!
- Buy a house: Jerry and I are already saving up for a home and participating in the First Time Home Buyer’s Club, which will give us a grant for our down payment after we save a certain amount. We’re hoping to buy toward the end of the year if jobs align!
- Run my first half-marathon: I started running this year and fell in love with it. I’m planning to run my first half-marathon (13.1 miles, baby!) in either April or September.
π Reading Goals
- Read 100 books: This has been my goal every year since I started blogging, and while I usually end up somewhere in the 70s, I’m still aiming for that elusive 100!
- Read Les Miserables: I plan to tackle the full 1,400+ page unabridged version slowly, a little at a time.
- Read the whole Harry Potter series: Shhh… I’ve only read the first four books. This year I want to start from the beginning and read the whole series straight through.
- Read the Twilight series: I haven’t read any of them yet, and I feel like I proooobably should. π
✨ Your Turn!
So those are some of my big goals for the upcoming year. What are yours? Let’s talk!
Here’s to a year of growth, goals, and good books. π
