It’s been over a month since I did my last Thankful Thursday, so I thought it was high time for another one! As always, I am linking up with Rebecca Jo. Here are some of the small things I’m thankful for lately.
Signs from my Papa
As you know, the first anniversary of my grandfather’s death was over the weekend, and I truly felt that I received a sign from him on that day. It brought me comfort to know that he is likely watching over us all. And here I go, getting all teary eyed just writing and thinking about it again. Do you believe in signs like this or am I just crazy?
Double doozie cookies
I am obsessed with Great American Cookie, and my best friend’s mom / my second mother snagged me some Double Doozies on sale this week! Delicious.
Fun at work
Summer is CRAZY time at the library and we run around all day, it seems. Tuesday was a great day, though. We had seven therapy dogs in for Paws to Read, which we do pretty regularly, and we also unveiled our new “paludarium.” We’ve been well known over the years for our 20 foot aquarium, but it got a crack in it last year. After months of preparations, it was finally re-opened yesterday as a paludarium (part water, part land and its own mini ecosystem) and I got to film it for Facebook Live on our page!
My first Diplicious sale
I just signed up as a Diplicious affiliate even though I am NOT a salesperson. Jerry and I eat this stuff every weekend and it was free to sign up this month so I said, “why not?!” My friend Holly made an order my very first day and I am so thankful! I am also thankful to the friends and family who have “liked” my Facebook page. I am NOT expecting to make tons of money at all, but it’s something fun for me and I appreciate the support.
Fun mail and new clothes
I may have gone a little overboard with the clothes shopping last month, but I’ve been getting lots of happy mail and new clothes that make me feel good about myself. I just discovered and LOVE Honey and Lace, and still love Agnes and Dora. I’m kind of banning myself on buying more for the moment, though. Oops.
Long weekend
Since I worked last Saturday, I’m off work tomorrow. Can’t complain about a three day weekend!
Girl's dinner
My besties and our moms had a much needed girl’s dinner last week and it was my turn to host. It’s always so nice to just hang out and talk with them all, and Caleb had a great time Snapchatting with the girls and borrowing their necklaces. Ha! We got a pizza meal deal from Sam’s Club too which I would totally recommend!
Better medicine
I just switched over to a new migraine medication. My old one, while it usually got rid of the migraine, gave me awful side effects that were just as bad and would send me home from work anyway (extreme exhaustion, dizziness, heavy limbs). I have now been switched to a new one that works MUCH better. Such a relief.
Amazing photo book deal
I finally ordered my three Shutterfly books I needed to be caught up. I’ve been waiting months for just the right sale and timing. I make them quarterly for every three months and each book is 100+ pages which means VERY expensive. My cart for the three books was nearly $600! Well, Shutterfly did a first time ever sale for unlimited pages and my cart went down to $104 for ALL THREE BOOKS! Each book is usually close to $200 and I got them for about $35 EACH! EXCITING! Now I’m just waiting for them to arrive. Talk about a deal of a lifetime!
Warranty on glasses
A few months ago, I got new glasses from the eye doctor’s. These are what I call my “good” or “expensive” glasses since I also have several cheap Firmoo pairs and I switch them up. Well, Caleb broke my “good” glasses a couple of months ago and I was lucky enough to get them replaced for free under warranty. Aaaaand then he broke them AGAIN a few weeks later. My expensive ones, yet again… never the cheap ones. I was able to get a replacement of the replacement, AKA a THIRD PAIR for free once again. Thank you, free one year warranty.
Visitor and surprise treats at work
My cousin Ellen (technically my second or third or something) stopped in at the library recently and surprised me with the sweetest little gift bag filled with a soda, candy, snacks, and a Pez dispenser for Caleb (which he LOVES!). It’s so nice seeing loved ones at work and it was so thoughtful of her to do that! I definitely liked having that little snack/candy stash in my desk. I am so thankful to have such thoughtful people in my life!
Thanks for reading — may your Thursday hold more good than expected.
