My Pre-Spring Cleaning List

I just looked up the first day of spring, and evidently it’s March 20th. However, since I’m on an organization kick this year, my spring cleaning can’t wait until then! You gotta move when you feel the motivation, right?!

Here are the household chores and tasks I’d like to accomplish before spring rolls around. After then, I’ll make a whole new list for the spring.

  • Finish cleaning our bedroom: our bedroom is small, cramped, and cluttered. I’ve been working on cleaning it out and organizing it for several weeks now and I really, really need to finish it!
  • Shelve Caleb’s books: at my request, my parent’s bought Caleb a cube bookshelf for his birthday! I want to get all his books organized and shelved nicely.
  • Pack up Holden’s books: sigh. My mom and I deep cleaned both boy’s rooms in October and then again in December, only for them to get trashed again in days. Holden is a beast and does this by throwing every single of his 100+ books off his shelf and flinging them across the room. I have lovingly sorted, organized, and shelved them many times (as a librarian does), but he’s too young. I am going to pack his books away in a tote for now, and just leave his board books out until he’s old enough to enjoy isntead of throw and rip his picture books.
  • Clean the fridge: time for a fridge clean out, and to change the bulb that’s been out for oh… 3 months? It’s definitely not complicated like needing a whole fridge repair, we just need to see what size bulb it needs and order it. Not sure why it’s taken so long. Oops. LOL
  • Clean the dining room and table: the dining room and the table have turned into my Pink Zebra headquarters, and I want to change this and get my table back!
  • Clean the garage and put up shelves: I got several shelves for my birthday that I intend to use in the garage to sort and store some of my holiday decor and some of my Pink Zebra stock (see above point about the dining room).
  • Put together my second shoe rack / wax storage: a lot of us PZ consultants use backward shoe racks to store our Sprinkles cartons (see photo above). I already got one and sorted my retired scents onto it. My parents got me a second one (ON WHEELS!) to put my current scents onto. Now I just need to put it together and sort my Sprinkles onto it!

I think that’ll be enough to get me through until spring, and then I’ll make another list. I’ve already done a lot of work, and have started to organize and inventory some of my other wax, PZ stock, craft items, and holiday decor. I have a lot of work to do, but I am making good progress so far!

Do you do a lot of spring cleaning? What about winter cleaning like me? New year, fresh start!
