What I Love to Read
I read a little bit of (almost) everything, but I’m especially drawn to suspense, thrillers, and anything dark or twisty. On the flip side, I also love chick lit, women’s fiction, and romance — the lighter, heartwarming stuff. I round it all out with a mix of YA, horror, cozy mysteries, and a bit of nonfiction. My favorite nonfiction picks usually fall into true crime, memoirs, or stories about fascinating people.
Where It All Began
My love of reading started early — I was a shy, anxious kid who found comfort in books. Weekly trips to the library with my mom were a highlight of my childhood, and she’s the reason I became a reader (and a librarian!). I grew up on Beverly Cleary’s Ramona books — my first fictional friend — and still remember laughing through them with my mom. From Pippi Longstocking to Nancy Drew to the Babysitters Club, books have always been there for me, and they still are. The following posts are reflections on my reading life:
The Books That Built Me:
A nostalgic reflection on the stories and characters that shaped my childhood and identity — from Ramona Quimby to Jessica Darling.
Read Between the Lifelines:
A personal look at how books have carried me through every stage of life — from childhood library visits to late-night escapes in adulthood.
