Hello everyone! It’s been a couple of weeks since my last Wednesday update. As you can see, I’ve added “runs” into series, because I found I was talking a lot about my running in the weigh-in section, and it’s been occupying a lot of my time and thoughts lately. So here we go!
Weigh-in
I’ve lost 2.5 pounds since my last update for a total of 81 pounds so far. As any weight loss-er knows, hitting any 10 mark is pretty exciting, so hitting 80 was really cool! That means my next goal is 90, then 100! I can’t believe I’m getting to the 100 pound mark. It seems surreal to me! Last week was a bit rough. The whole weekend presented me with some unhealthy foods, lots of which I didn’t resist. We also didn’t get to the gym as much as usual. Definitely need to stay on track better this week! Anyways, I was looking at my paassport this week and was like, “OMG, what a fat face!” So I did another before and after. Hope you enjoy! Haha. :)
Runs
My best mile time at my last update was 12:50. I crushed that with an 11:49, so now I’m working towards getting to 10. Not only did I beat my mile time, I beat my distance as well. With my trainer and fiance by my side, I ran two whole miles on Sunday, then I ran it again last night! I cannot believe that I am able to run two miles! Now, granted, it’s not the prettiest run, and it’s certainly not the fastest, but I’m doing it! I really am! Every single run feels like the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but the feeling I get when I complete it is like nothing else. It makes the pain and struggle worth it. I really hate running on the treadmill though, so all my runs have been outside on a track. I’m worried about winter, but I refuse to stop running, so I will definitely continue outdoor running if the track isn’t slippery. There I am at the track last night before my second ever two mile run.
Oh, and I’ve officially registered for my very first race! It’s a 2.5 mile Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning! My trainer, Scott, will be running with me and hopefully Jerry too, once he finds out his new work schedule. Y’all have no idea how pumped I am to run this race! I’ve already started looking ahead for 5Ks coming up in the near future. It’s amazing what you can do when you have people who believe in you, and even more amazing when you believe in yourself.
Wedding
For those of you who don’t know, despite being a New Yorker, I love the South and country music. That said, I decided that my bridesmaids and I will all be wearing cowboy boots! I’m wearing dark brown, since my dress is ivory, and they’ll be wearing black to match their dresses. I got my wedding boots this week and I really like them! Check out the picture of my boots. Cool, huh?! YEEHAW! ;) Also, at my brother’s wedding in June, my family and I surprised him by doing a flash mob of “Call Me Maybe.” Yeah, kind of corny, I know, but my mom wanted to do something special for my wedding too, but I didn’t want a surprise. I decided that me, Jerry and the family should all learn a line dance to Garth Brook’s “Friends in Low Places.” It’s such a good country jam. I just love it. Again, more corniness, but it should be fun.
Jerry and I had PreCana all day on Saturday at the church we’re getting married at. It was pretty b-o-r-i-n-g, but it had to be done and it brings us one step closer to getting married. We met some nice people though, and the elderly parishioners made us some vases which was really nice. We also got a scratch-off and won a dollar – holla!
We also got our flowers this week! I wanted fake flowers because they’ll last longer and are way cheaper. We got them from a designer on ebay who makes custom wedding flowers. I got my bouquet, the bouquets for my bridesmaids, a toss bouquet, corsages and boutonnieres. They are dark purple and ivory and are gorgeous. My bouquet is pictured here, and is cascading. The girl’s are rounded.
That’s just about all the updates I’ve got for this week! I have decided to incorporate even more personal posts into the blog so expect some more of those soon. I’ll be posting a lot more about my fitness / weight loss / running journey, in addition to my Wednesday updates, so be sure to keep stopping by if you’re interested. See ya all soon!
