Happy ALMOST weekend, everyone! Today I’m linking up with Rebecca Jo for another edition of Thankful Thursday. I’m sharing and reflecting on some of the little things I’ve been grateful for lately.
Trips to the country
If you know me, you know that my dream is to buy an old farmhouse out in the country. We’re at least a few years away from making that happen, but in the meantime, I still enjoy going out there any chance I get! I have a friend whom I met a few years back when I bought some primitives from her online. She’s a retired lady who did what I hope to do: sell her house in the suburbs and move on out! We met up for lunch and primitive shopping last week and it was great. I found a few new decor items and enjoyed chatting about country living, dogs, and life in general.
Girl's Movie Club + a great movie
I have a “Girl’s Movie Club” with some relatives and friends, and once a month, we go see a movie together. Last weekend we saw I Feel Pretty, and oh my word, I LOVED IT! It was so, so funny and incredibly relatable. I think it had a great message and a sweet story underneath the humor, especially for women: it’s okay to be exactly who you are, and that confidence is so incredibly important.
Nice weather
It snowed last week (because NEW YORK), but over the weekend the weather FINALLY broke. It’s still a bit chilly, but we’re finally experiencing some warmer temps and SUN! Ahhh. So refreshing.
Making some quick money on Facebook
We’ve been simplifying (de-cluttering) and prepping for Caleb’s move into his “big boy room,” and as such, have been throwing out and donating quite a bit of stuff. I was getting ready to throw out a lamp and an old glass shelving unit when I decided to list them for sale on a Facebook sale page. Within two days, both sold for my asking price of $10 each. We used half of it for ice cream and half of it for gas… win-win! I love clearing things out.
A clean house
As I mentioned, we’ve been working on getting rid of stuff and just keeping the house tidier. Jerry did a lot of spring cleaning (or “rage cleaning” as someone called it) by emptying the spare room for Caleb, and I worked hard to ensure that all the laundry was put away and the dishes were done by the end of the weekend. It’s so nice to start the week off on a fresh, clean note. I’ve also been trying to keep up with dishes by loading the dishwasher every night.
Relief at a great baby check up
I had a baby check up on Monday and I wasn’t worried about it at all until the nurse started asking me all kinds of questions AFTER she tested my urine. I thought for sure the doctor would be breezing in to tell me I had diabetes or something (since they test for proteins in the urine). I got myself all worked up and was frantically texting Jerry. When he came in, he had ZERO concerns and said everything looked great. PHEW!
Homemade lunches from Mom
I’ve been struggling with what to bring to work for lunch this entire pregnancy since I’m trying to eat a little healthier. This week, my mom made me four portions of a chicken and potato meal that I love, and pre-packaged them all up in containers for me.
Frequent baby movements
I’ve been feeling really inconsistent movements from the baby for the past few weeks, but just this week, his moves have started to become more frequent. It’s so reassuring to know he’s in there moving around and growing.
