Baby gifts
Last week, I visited with my best friends and our mamas to see my BFF’s baby boy again. They all had presents for our baby and it was so sweet and thoughtful! We got some swaddlers and lots of cute clothes.
Dinner & brownies
When I got home from work last Friday after a looong week, Jerry had already made dinner and brownies for me as a surprise. Yum.
Being safe after a small fire
We had to call 911 over the weekend when the inside of our oven caught on fire. Yep, our second 911 call this month! Jerry was running the self-cleaning mode and POOF… fire. Luckily, it never spread at all. Unluckily, we’ll have to buy a new one. There was a really nice fireman outside talking to Caleb which was so sweet. He was showing him one of the tanks and asking him about Dakota.
Gift card in the mail
to my surprise, I found a really sweet card and Walmart gift card in the mail this week from my friend, Catie. She sent it as a gift for the baby, and it’ll definitely come in handy! Such a sweet and thoughtful surprise!
Free baby clothes
I got two big bags full of baby clothes for free from a mama on a local mom swap group. Now I can stop panicking about whether or not we have enough!
Another good triage visit
I feel like this whole post is a repeat of last week’s with the 911 calls and triage visits… yikes! Anyway, I had a prenatal appointment on Tuesday. My BP, which has been elevated, was at its highest yet at 140/90. My doctor sent me straight to triage for blood work and monitoring. After about 2.5 hours again, we got sent home. The blood work was fine, the baby was fine, and my BP was back to normal the entire time we were there.
A thorough doctor
Going with the above, my OB has been really attentive and thorough and is ensuring that the baby and I will both stay healthy. He is now having me come in for appointments really frequently. I saw him Tuesday, and will already be going back Friday and Monday. Better safe than sorry! I’ve always loved this doctor, and now I appreciate even more how careful he is being.
Finding shoes with some help
Yep, I had a meltdown over the weekend and started crying. My feet have gotten so swollen that I literally couldn’t fit into ANY of my shoes anymore when I was getting ready for my best friend’s bridal shower. Jerry and I rushed to Walmart where I tried on a bunch of shoes until we finally found a pair that fit. I’m thankful that Jerry actually picked out shoes with me and got on the floor to help me try them on. The shoes are hideous (men’s wide black sneakers), but they fit and are comfy. They’ll get me through the rest of the pregnancy
Nice bridal shower
The shower for my best friend was so nice over the weekend! I think she had a great time and I’m so happy for her.
Affordable vet
A few years ago, our vet moved to another office. Though it’s further away, we followed him there because we adore him. His new office is also really reasonably priced. I had to bring Dakota in this week and he got SO MUCH stuff done that I was shocked at how low the bill was. So lucky to have such a great vet.
Unexpected day off
I’m off work today because my mom is out of town and couldn’t watch Caleb. I’m actually really glad to have the day off because I just don’t feel well lately. The end is near with the pregnancy and I am feeling it!
The appearance of Halloween
Halloween items have started to appear online and in stores and I’m over here dreaming of that and the fall. I found some stuff I want to order from Target already. I am feeling all giddy! Byeeee summer.
Thanks for reading — may your Thursday hold more good than expected.
