Thankful Thursday (8)

Lots of little things to be thankful for this week! I am linking up with Rebecca Jo!

Lots of movies and movie buddies

Since Jerry works nights (and is picky about movies anyway), I am usually looking for people to see movies with. My friends Angela and Evin to the rescue! These two are always game to see a movie with me and I’m grateful! Last week, we saw Red Sparrow. It was a tad long, but I really liked it! More than I thought I would, actually. This weekend, I’m seeing Love, Simon with my friend Mal, and I Can Only Imagine with my Girl’s Movie Club.

MoviePass

I know I’ve mentioned it before, but I’m so thankful for my MoviePass. I pay $9.95 a month to see ALL the movies I want. I usually see between 4 – 8 a month and I love it. It’s brought me back to the movies, which is something I’ve always loved doing.

Mom friends and playdates

My friend Catie and her little boy, John, came over on Sunday for a playdate and brunch. It’s great for the moms AND the kids!

Blogging mojo again

Along with the energy, I’ve gotten a lot of blogging mojo lately! I’ve been writing and scheduling posts left and right, and have felt very inspired! I’ve also been cleaning up the blog a lot: editing and updating pages, adding tabs up top in my menu, re-categorizing old posts, and deleting some old junk, too. Really happy with how it’s all coming along, and I feel that everything is really up to date right now.

Second trimester energy

I hit second trimester on Sunday, and I’m finding that some of my energy has come back!

More new words for Caleb

Caleb has really blossomed in his speech over the last few weeks. He now strings two and three words together, and is actually ASKING for things he wants instead of whining, yelling, and pointing. It’s made life easier and I’m very proud of his progress.

Weekend work visitors and dinner

I had to work last Saturday, so Jerry and Caleb came in to visit. They brought me some cookies and spent some time with me on my break. After, we went to my parent’s house for a St. Patrick’s day feast – yum! Why don’t we eat corned beef and cabbage more than once a year?!

Workout motivation

We got a family membership to the Y in late January, and I’ve been really motivated and pushing myself a lot. I make it, on average, three days a week – no matter how tired I am or how badly I DON’T want to work out. I’m determined to have a healthier pregnancy with less weight gain than last time. I foresee this motivation sticking around too, and hope to get back into shape and lose a lot of weight again postpartum.

Three day weekend

I worked last Saturday, so now I’m off tomorow. Hallelujah for a three day weekend! My body and I desperately need it.

New family weekend schedule

I’m loving the new schedule Jerry and I made for the weekends. On Saturdays, we have either family night or date night. We rotate each Saturday between a date night out to eat and sometimes a movie, with pizza and a relaxing night at home. On Sundays, we are rotating who cooks each week. This Saturday is a dinner out week and next Saturday will be a pizza at home week!

Modern technology to share my ultrasound

We had an ultrasound yesterday and my grandma in Florida was able to watch with us, thanks to Messenger Video. We’re very close even though she’s far away, and I’m glad she could be there for it.

Theater season tickets

Most of you know, I’m sure, that my aunt and I have season tickets to the local theater. We get to see six shows a year. Though the show we saw on Tuesday wasn’t a favorite (An American in Paris), I still always have fun and get to see shows I normally wouldn’t have.

Successful book club launch

We’ve been trying to target the 19-35 age group at my library, so I launched a chapter of a Forever YA book club. It’s been in the works for a few months now, ever since I proposed it at a staff meeting months ago. Last night was our first meeting and it went so well! I had 7 ladies show up (which is a lot for that age range) and we had some great discussions about the book (Genuine Fraud by E. Lockhart). Also: pizza! I was thrilled to find out they all went and checked out the copies of next month’s book that I had put aside for them and am glad they’re all planning on coming back. I’m excited to see where this goes!

Hope you all have a great week!
