Another Friday, another peek into the chaos, calm, and everything in between. Here's what’s been on my mind this week…
ONE.
I had two days off last week so my aunt and I went to see two movies since she was also off (she’s a teacher), and we both have MoviePass. We saw 15:17 to Paris which was okay but kind of boring, and we also saw Game Night which I REALLY liked. It was funny, entertaining, and just plain fun!
TWO.
I did a lot of fun activities last week with Caleb! I brought him to “Have a Blast with Bubbles” at my library on my morning off. He went BANANAS! Then I brought him to a winter dance at the community center. He had a great time tearing up the dance floor (and by that I mean running around). They also served sundaes and had a craft. A little boy kept trying to dance with him and they grabbed hands a couple of times. My heart melted.
THREE.
Caleb’s birthday party was Sunday and it went pretty well. It was a month late because we rented a lodge and that’s when it was available. He had a lot of fun running around with his little buddies, got a lot of nice gifts, and enjoyed some good food. Two whole sheet pizzas went, and we got this incredible brownie/cookie cake from our favorite bakery. So far, three is treating Caleb pretty well!
FOUR.
Caleb is starting, very slowly, to string two and three words together! The other day he was eating toast, but he wanted ice cream. He took a couple bites of toast and then went “all done toast!” I also taught him to say “peace out,” which is hilarious, and “mommy’s baby Caleb.” He tries REALLY hard to say his name, but it doesn’t sound anything like it. A for effort, though!
FIVE.
Jerry and I are starting a new weekend dinner schedule. Every other Saturday, we will order pizza (or something else) and have a movie night at home. On the other Saturdays, we will go out to dinner for a date night or family date night with Caleb, and also try to do another fun activity. With our opposite schedules, we just need to carve out some time to spend as a family. Then on Sundays, we are going to alternate each week and take turns cooking. I’m up first this Sunday! Wish me luck.
That’s what I’ve got this week! I’m working all day tomorrow, so the weekend will definitely fly on by. We are also on baby watch because my sister in law should be giving birth to my third nephew any old minute now! Come on, baby!
