ONE.
Last week, our family went to a cute little carousel park about an hour away that the kids love to go to. It’s a teeny tiny park with several vintage kiddie rides and games. Tickets cost 25 cents a piece, so it’s really reasonable too. We went with my parents and my brother’s family, then had dinner afterward. Caleb had a few little meltdowns, but all in all, he had fun. Holden rode in his stroller and chilled.
TWO.
Speaking of Holden, he’s turning one on Monday. I know every parent says this, but where did the time go?! Was it really an entire year ago that I was sitting at home waiting for the hospital to call me in for my induction? Can’t believe our little ham has been in our lives for a year already. We decided not to throw a first birthday party because it’s so expensive and he won’t even remember it. We’re just going to have my parents and brother’s family over for pizza and cake on his birthday.
THREE.
I finally acquired the last two 2019 Spooky Town building releases that I wanted from Michaels: the Haunted Library, because DUH, and Spooky Winner. A few weeks back, I also got Graveyard Party. I had to play all sorts of coupon games to get these at reasonable prices, but now I can stop worrying about them selling out. I also wanted the Tilt n Hurl but it’s already sold out… in August. WTF?! I want two more 2019 releases, but they’re not at Michaels so they’ll need to be ordered online and I somehow need to work them into our budget if I can: Cassandra’s Cakery and Best Buds Dog Supply Store. I’m thinking about trying to build my own platforms soon. I’m trying to get my dad onboard to help, so we’ll see! You all probably don’t care a lick about Spooky Town, but oh well!
FOUR.
Jerry and I went to see Ready or Not last weekend and we both absolutely loved it! If you’re a horror movie fan, you’ve got to go check it out. It was so nice to have a little date night just the two of us… it’s been way too long.
FIVE.
Caleb had preschool orientation on Monday night and acted like a turd. He was in pre-3 last year and pre-4 this year at the same school, but he’ll go three days a week now instead of two. As always, he resisted going inside so I had to carry him in. Once in, he had fun and didn’t want to leave. This is how it goes during the school year too. Sigh. It’s really good for him and he does well, but he always fights about going. I’m looking forward to it though because he learns a lot, and we go on several fun field trips that we did last year too! Next year, he’ll start kindergarten. Again, I say, where does the time go?
I’ve got a busy weekend ahead, so I’m glad it’s a 3 day weekend (holla, Labor Day!). Tonight is girl’s pizza night with my besties, our moms, and the kiddos. Monday is the baby’s birthday and our little celebration for him. Also hoping to get in some more fall / Halloween decorating this weekend. I started last weekend but it’ll be a long process because I have a lot, and it takes awhile to switch everything over.
